MTO Approved Safety and Defensive Driving Schools
Here is the list of MTO certified driving schools that have driving safety and defensive driving as a primary focus. These are not the only driving schools that have such a focus.
Mike Fisher’s Driving School, since its inception, has taught from the JETTALA Curriculum. This is a MTO approved class G driving course that stresses safety and defensive driving techniques by teaching students the concepts of “situational awareness”. In other words, students are taught to anticipate other drivers making a mistake, and to always be figuring out what they will do in that situation. It has proved effective in a couple of ways.
The first is that students are better drivers and from feedback we have determined that they seldom cause accidents, and can often avoid potential accidents.
The second is that students obtain better driving knowledge, and this is one of the reasons for our tremendous first time driving test passing grade percentages. We have had several classes with a 100% passing rate on their first road test with the MTO.
